The Cruces de Mayo (May Crosses) festival in Nerja is a vibrant celebration of spring and community spirit. The event will take place on Sunday, 3rd of May, featuring thirteen beautifully decorated crosses displayed throughout Nerja and the nearby village of Maro.
The celebration will be running continuously from 12:00 to 22:00, allowing residents of Nerja and Maro, as well as visitors, to enjoy this emblematic tradition throughout the day.
The crosses, carefully decorated with flowers and traditional elements, will be on display to the public, and visitors will also be able to sample typical local products such as arropía and local wine.
This year, a total of thirteen crosses will take part, located across different areas of the municipality. These are organised by neighbourhood associations, social clubs, and community groups, as well as the official municipal crosses installed at the Balcón de Europa—created by the Cultural Club of Equestrian and Carriage Driving San Isidro of Nerja—and in the Plaza de Maro, prepared by the Marocueva Seniors Association and the Festival Committee.
