Patron saint festivities in honor of the Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel, with processions, music, and attractions.

The Feria de Nerja is one of the town's most vibrant and anticipated annual celebrations, honouring its patron saints, Our Lady of Sorrows (Virgen de las Angustias) and Saint Michael the Archangel (San Miguel Arcángel). This festival showcases a rich tapestry of Andalusian culture, featuring religious processions, music, dance, and traditional festivities that draw both locals and visitors alike.

  • Thursday, 8th October to Monday, 12th October 2025

The fair traditionally includes 12 October, coinciding with the Fiesta del Virgen del Pilar, the patron saint of the Guardia Civil, making it a public holiday in Nerja. 

Festival Highlights

  • Morning Rocket Launches: Each day begins at 10:00 AM with rockets signalling the start of festivities. 

  • Religious Processions: Honouring the patron saints, these solemn events are central to the fair's religious significance.

  • Live Music and Concerts: Evening performances by local and regional artists, offering a mix of flamenco, pop, and traditional music.

  • Fairground Attractions: A variety of rides and games suitable for all ages, located at the central fairground.

  • Casetas (Marquees): Temporary structures set up by local associations and groups, offering food, drinks, and dancing.

  • Fireworks Display: Spectacular shows lighting up the night sky, marking the culmination of daily events.

  • Town Centre and Balcón de Europa: Venues for parades, live performances, and other cultural activities.
