White Night of Culture in Nerja
Under the name “Bridges of Communication”, Nerja will celebrate the fifteenth edition of its Noche en Blanco on Friday, 22 May, from 6pm until midnight, across various venues and with the participation of local artists and community groups. The event was announced by Deputy Mayor Francisco Arce and Councillor for Culture Ana María Muñoz.
One of the main new additions this year is the programme of activities in Plaza Cavana, which will host performances by students from the Nerja Municipal School of Music and Dance. This will be followed by performances from Grupo Gotelé, Lorenzo Segovia on guitar and piano, and the evening will close with guitarist Pablo Alcázar. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a live painting exhibition created throughout the day by artists from ANEDA.
At the Sala Mercado, located in Plaza de la Ermita, visitors can enjoy a photographic exhibition about the municipality’s watchtowers, organised by Fotoclub Nerja. The exhibition will open with a concert by Coral Alminares at 7pm.
At the Peña La Soleá headquarters, located at 1 Calle Ingenio, visitors can attend a sung lecture by Juan Pinilla at 7:30pm. One hour later, the Municipal Exhibition Hall on Calle Cristo will host the awards ceremony for the Aventura de Escribir short story competition, including readings of the winning entries.
At the Balcón de Europa, there will be a display of lacework pieces by the Asociación de Bolilleras from 7:30pm until the closing concert at 10pm by the Nerja Municipal Band.
At the Museo de Nerja in Plaza de España, entry will be free all day from 10am until 11pm. In addition, there will be an Andalusian music concert by Ibn Mardanis at 8pm, followed by a guided tour through the museum galleries at 9:30pm.
The headquarters of the Asociación Nerjeña de Arte (ANEDA), located on Calle Granada next to the Centro Cultural Villa de Nerja, will also remain open from 7pm until 11pm.
Another new venue this year is Plaza de Maro, where visitors can enjoy a dance performance by the Christian David Callejón dance group at 7pm. All activities are free of charge.
Councillor for Culture Ana María Muñoz thanked all the groups taking part voluntarily in this celebration of local culture and invited residents and visitors alike to enjoy the programme of Noche en Blanco 2026.
