The Tradition of Málaga Moscatel Raisins
Málaga's Moscatel raisins are renowned for their traditional artisan production. Grapes are harvested using a technique known as vendimia a navaja, in which a small section of the vine shoot, called a marquilla, is cut along with the bunch.
The grapes are then naturally dried in the sun on traditional drying beds known as paseros, preserving a centuries-old agricultural tradition.
Supporting Local Traditions
The Moscatel Association and Almáchar Town Council thank all visitors and exhibitors for their participation.
By attending the market, visitors help strengthen the local economy, support small producers and promote traditionally crafted products.
Come and discover the aromas, flavours and traditions that make Almáchar unique. The market opens at 10:30, with activities continuing throughout the day until 18:30.
The Moscatel Market is a celebration of Almáchar's agricultural heritage, traditional craftsmanship and local gastronomy. It is also an opportunity to support local producers and small businesses while discovering the authentic character of the Axarquía.
Come along, explore the stalls, enjoy the music and experience the flavours and traditions that make Almáchar so special!
