Feria de las Maravillas
Maro will once again celebrate its Fair in honor of the Virgin of Wonders, taking place from September 4th to 8th, with a program of activities for all audiences. A local fair honoring the Virgen de las Maravillas with music, dancing, and traditional food.
Friday 4th September
18:00 – Urban Race
Maro Fair 2026 urban race, organised by Club Nerja Atletismo, the Maro Festival Committee and the Sports Department of Nerja Town Hall. See more info on the race itself : Ayuntamiento de Nerja

20:00 – Parade through the streets of Maro
The Charanga Vaso Largo marching band will parade through the streets, announcing the start of the Feria de las Maravillas 2026.

Presented by Christian David Callejón at the Official Festival Marquee.
21:30 – Opening Proclamation
This year, the Feria de las Maravillas 2026 pays tribute to a very special group: “The Girls of Maro” (Las Niñas de Maro), who will be the official opening speakers of the fair.
They represent the joy of the festivities and the lasting friendship and pride of belonging to Maro. Although many now study, work or live elsewhere, they return every September to their home village, where they reunite, share memories and keep alive the traditions they grew up with.
Young women with their futures ahead of them, they have grown without losing their roots or the essence of what it means to be from Maro: loving their village, respecting its customs and proudly celebrating its festivities.
Their appointment as the Opening Speakers of the Feria de las Maravillas 2026 recognises both the present and, above all, the future of Maro.

22:00 – Election of the Fair Queen and Ladies 2026

Saturday 5th September
Day of Our Seniors & the Horse
10:00 – Charanga Vaso Largo
The marching band will bring music and energy to the morning of the first day of the fair.
14:00 – Horse Riders’ Gathering & Equestrian Bar
At the car park next to the fairground. Ribbon races, live music and plenty more surprises.
14:00 – Traditional Lunch for Our Seniors
At the Official Festival Marquee, Plaza de la Iglesia.
16:00 – Election of the 2026 Senior Fair Queen & Ladies
Followed by a tribute to the longest-married couple. Afterwards, music with local performer Plácido.
17:00 – Dance Performance
By the Ángela Muñoz Dance Group.
22:00 – Live music with Al Alba
00:00 – “La Cruz del Mapa”
A tribute to Manuel Carrasco.
Afterwards, the party continues with Al Alba.
To finish the night – DJ Manuel Moreno.
Sunday 6th September
Children’s Day
10:00 – Brass Town Parade
Parade through the streets of Maro with the Brass Town marching band to wake everyone up.
14:00 – Daytime Fair
Enjoy an international paella, courtesy of Merendero Ayo.
14:30 – Juan Jesús “El Manta”
Performance by the local artist and contestant from the TV programme Yo Soy del Sur.
16:00 – Daytime Fair
Performance by the Christian David Callejón Dance Group.
17:00 – Games for Children… and the Not-So-Young!
On Calle Real. Fun with sack races, bicycle and scooter ribbon races, egg-and-spoon races, treasure hunts, skipping rope and more. Entertainment by Amapola, plus a foam party with the collaboration of Atracciones Paquito.
21:30 – Live music with Al Alba
23:00 – Live performance by Brumas, the Sevillian group from Aljarafe.
Afterwards, the party continues with Al Alba.
To finish the night, music with DJ Manuel Moreno.
Monday 7th September
Day of the Offering
10:00 – Brass Town Parade
Parade through the streets of Maro with the Brass Town marching band to wake everyone up.
13:00 – 1st Spanish Omelette Competition
The first Tortilla de Patatas Competition, followed by the presentation of diplomas and prizes. All proceeds from the competition will go to the Nahel Association.
20:00 – Holy Mass
Presided over by Reverend Francisco Javier Espigares Flores, parish priest and Royal Chaplain in Granada, with singing by Coro de la Peña.
Followed by a floral offering to the Patron Saint.
20:30 – Election of the Woman with the Most “Arte Mareño” 2026
21:30 – Live Music & Dancing
The evening begins with Al Alba and Orquesta D’Vertigo.
Afterwards, music with DJ Manuel Moreno.
Tuesday 8th September
Maro’s Big Day in Honour of Our Lady of the Maravillas – Patron Saint of Maro
10:00 – Grand Morning Parade
The Brass Town marching band takes to the streets, getting everyone up and ready to continue the celebrations with music, rhythm and joy.
12:00 – Holy Mass in Honour of Our Patron Saint, Our Lady of the Maravillas
Officiated by parish priest D. Ruben Cejudo Montolla, with singing by Coro Rociero “La Peña Mareña”.
16:00 – Music with Al Alba
The celebrations for Maro’s big day continue with live music from Al Alba.
21:00 – Solemn Procession of Our Lady of the Maravillas, Patron Saint of Maro
The procession will make its way through the main streets of Maro, accompanied by the Nerja Municipal Music Band, conducted by D. David Paloma Gómez.
Maro’s Big Day in Honour of Our Lady of the Maravillas
Upon arriving at the Church of Our Lady of the Maravillas, the Virgin will be welcomed by Rumba Dos Mil and the Asociación Cultural-Tradicional.
A special tribute will be performed in her honour. As an expression of faith, respect and devotion, members of the association will perform a dance in honour of Maro’s Patron Saint, bringing together tradition, culture and emotion in one of the most anticipated and cherished celebrations for the people of Maro and visitors.
23:00 – José Manuel Soto Live
Performance by singer José Manuel Soto.
To close the fair, Al Alba will perform at the Official Festival Marquee.
The bar in Plaza de la Iglesia will remain open throughout the fair, serving lunches, dinners and more.

An urban bus service will operate from 19:00 until 02:00, with a single fare of €1.50.
The Festival Committee reserves the right to alter or cancel any of the scheduled activities.

The festivities are centred in the Plaza de las Maravillas in Maro, a quaint village located just a few kilometres east of Nerja. The intimate setting allows visitors to immerse themselves in the local culture and community spirit.
