Nerja will host the twelfth edition of its now well-established Ruta de la Tapa from May 2nd to 13th — a much-loved gastronomic event featuring 16 local establishments.

During the presentation, Ana Muñoz highlighted that this event “boosts and strengthens the town’s tourism and economic offering,” firmly establishing itself as a key date in the local calendar.

This year’s participating venues include Kronox Plaza, Sevillano Chaparil, Marissal by Dorobe, Café Bar El Colorao, Albi Burriana, Lacal, Casa Manuela, La Cigalita, Restaurante Mogador, Peña Madridista Nerja, Deolinda, Jacky’s Restaurante, Tapas Plaza, Biznaga, El Olivo Tapería and Cafetería Hermes.

Participants can collect their “tapaportes” (tapas passports) from any of the participating venues or from the Municipal Tourist Office. Using this system, visitors can sample the tapas and vote for their favourites.

As for prizes, the three establishments receiving the highest public votes will be awarded €300, €150 and €100 in Nerja Centro vouchers, respectively. In addition, the winning establishment will receive three months of free sponsorship. The fourth and fifth place venues will receive a certificate of recognition.

The Ruta de la Tapa also rewards public participation. Those who collect at least nine stamps in their tapaporte will be entered into a prize draw to win a dinner for four at the winning establishment, valued at €150. The prize also includes a fun bonus — the winner will receive the equivalent number of litres of beer matching their body weight. Meanwhile, the five most active participants on Instagram during the event will receive an exclusive Cervezas Victoria gift pack.
