1ª Feria Gastronómica Balcón de Europa – A Weekend of Flavours, Music, and Andalusian Spirit

From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th of August, Nerja’s iconic Balcón de Europa was transformed into a vibrant stage of aromas, tastes, and melodies with the very first edition of the Feria Gastronómica Balcón de Europa.

The festival celebrated the heart and soul of Andalusian gastronomy. Visitors explored stalls brimming with the finest regional products – from creamy artisan cheeses and golden olive oils to the unmistakable flavour of jamón ibérico and salchichón. There were also some winemakers who poured glasses of reds, whites, and refreshing rosados, while producers from across the region showcased specialities that told the story of Andalusia’s rich culinary heritage.

It wasn’t only about tasting; it was about experiencing. Guests strolled through the Balcón as the sea breeze mingled with the scent of aged cheeses and cured hams, met passionate producers eager to share their craft, and discovered the flavours that make Andalusia a paradise for food lovers.

As the sun set, the feria shifted into celebration mode with live performances filling the night air. The poetic voice of Nolasco, the talent of Eduardo Campanero, and the lively rhythms of No me poses que llevo chanclas turned Nerja’s beloved landmark into a joyful gathering place where locals and visitors came together.

This first edition was a promise of more to come. The Feria Gastronómica Balcón de Europa left its mark as a highlight of Nerja’s cultural calendar – an annual tradition in the making where food, wine, music, and community intertwine in one of Spain’s most beautiful settings.

We hope to see it happening every year!
