Feria de las Maravillas 2025 in Maro – Small village, Big heart
Every September, the quiet little village of Maro—just a few minutes east of Nerja—explodes into colour for the Feria de las Maravillas, a celebration in honour of the Virgen de las Maravillas (Virgin of Wonders). It’s intimate, musical, deeply traditional—and absolutely welcoming.
Dates: Friday 5 to Monday 8 September 2025. Expect four days of dancing, food, music and heartfelt devotion centred around Plaza de las Maravillas.

Opening night · Friday 5th September
Chupinazo (rocket launch), parade through Maro’s narrow streets with marching band, opening speech by Antonio Gallardo Moreno (“Antoñín el del Municipal”) and the election of the 2025 Queen and Ladies. Music and dancing carry on into the night.Senior Day · Saturday 6th September

Mass and the grand procession of the Virgen de las Maravillas, this year paying special tribute to grandmothers—a beautiful nod to the women who keep traditions alive.
Music & shows.: Look out for Somos del Sur and Klandestinos with their lively tribute to Los Delincuentes, Extremoduro, Fito & Fitipaldis, plus orchestras, dance performances, equestrian and sports activities, and plenty of local gastronomy.
