Las Palmeras Beach Club – Cosy Sunbeds & Great Bites by the Sea
Playazo is Nerja’s longest and widest beach, stretching for more than two kilometres of golden sand. Unlike Burriana, which has the town’s only other beach club, Playazo is far quieter. In fact, along its whole length you’ll only find two small chiringuitos – and then, standing out as something special, Las Palmeras Beach Club.
It’s not a big, glossy beach bar but a cosy, welcoming spot with sunbeds, grilled seafood, and a menu that offers more variety than the usual beach fare. Alongside the sardines and fried fish, you’ll find a really good Caesar salad and other lighter options – all at very fair prices.
Stop in for a morning coffee, enjoy a light breakfast, share a plate of sardines, or tuck into a fresh salad for lunch with your toes in the sand. The vibe is unpretentious and easy-going, and the service is warm and friendly – the kind of place where you feel comfortable lingering a little longer.
Practical tip: parking is close and easy. Las Palmeras is right by the first of the three Playazo car parks – a simple gravel lot where there’s usually plenty of space, even in the busy summer months.
And while summer brings its share of buzz, autumn may be the sweetest season to visit. The sands are quieter, the days still warm, and you can enjoy Nerja’s slower rhythm with a drink or plate of food in hand.
