Our personal story:

We had just moved back to Europe after a decade in Asia, to this new, beautiful land—glorious, yes, but also quiet and distant, during those strange COVID times. The streets were hushed, faces hidden behind masks, and for weeks we felt like shadows slipping through an unfamiliar world. Meeting people was not easy.

Then we found Namaste Restaurant.

From the moment we stepped inside, it was like crossing a portal. The air smelled of cumin, turmeric, and memories. The walls, adorned with prayer flags and Himalayan tapestries, breathed a familiar comfort. But more than anything, it was Sangita who made it magic.

She came out from behind the counter, eyes smiling above her mask, and greeted us as if we were long-lost family. “You are home now,” she said softly, placing her hand over her heart. That night, she served us bowls of Nepalese Butter Chicken that tasted like it had been made with motherly love. She asked where we were from, how we were coping, and then told us stories of her own journey—how she, too, had once arrived in a place where everything was new and nothing felt like home.

We returned the next week. And we keep returning. Each visit stitched a little thread of belonging into our hearts.

In a time of masks and distance, Namaste wasn’t just a restaurant—it was a refuge. A little corner of Asia, wrapped in spice, kindness, and Sangita’s ever-giving heart.
