Virgen de las Angustias & San Miguel - Patron Saints of Nerja

Nerja prepares to celebrate its Patron Saints, Our Lady of Sorrows (Virgen de las Angustias) and Saint Michael the Archangel (San Miguel Arcángel), with traditional religious ceremonies and processions.

Saturday, 26 September - 19:00 – Mass & Transfer Procession

Iglesia El Salvador

Mass followed by the traditional procession marking the transfer of the Patron Saints.

2, 3 & 4 October - 20:00 – Traditional Triduum

Three evenings of religious services in honour of Nerja’s Patron Saints.

Saturday, 10 October - 19:00 – Mass & Procession

The celebrations culminate with Mass at 19:00, followed by the traditional procession of the Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel through the streets of Nerja.

Residents and visitors are invited to take part in these celebrations of local tradition, devotion and community.
