Día del Turista - Tourist Day in Nerja
A celebration to thank visitors with music, dance, and typical food at the Balcón de Europa.
The Día del Turista (Tourist Day) is an annual celebration in Nerja dedicated to honouring and appreciating the visitors who contribute to the town's vibrant tourism industry.
Nerja will celebrate the 20th edition of Tourist Day on 25 September 2026 with a full programme of activities, an awards ceremony and a concert by Spanish singer Merche, as announced by the Councillor for Tourism, Ana María Muñoz; the Vice-President of AEHCOS, Damián Toboso; and the President of the Nerja Business Association, Raúl Rivas.
Programme of Activities
The Councillor for Tourism explained that Tourist Day will once again combine cultural activities, local traditions and tourism promotion.
Highlights include a concert by singer Merche in Plaza de España, traditional guided tours of Nerja’s town centre, an afternoon folklore performance at the Balcón de Europa and a Tourist Office stand where white carnations will be handed out.

Free guided tours of Nerja town centre. Registration at the Tourist Office or turismo@nerja.es. Limited places available.
11:00 – Tourism Awards Ceremony - Gardens of the Nerja Caves
Presentation of the 2026 Tourism Ambassador Award and Tourism Distinctions.
18:30 – Folklore & Local Culture - Balcón de Europa
Tourist Information stand offering complimentary white carnations, alongside traditional performances by the Senior Theatre Group, Fandangos Cortijeros del Río de la Miel, Nerja and Maro Folklore Group and Belén Heredia Dance Ensemble.
21:30 – Justo a Tiempo Concert - Plaza de España
22:30 – Merche Live in Concert - Plaza de España
A day celebrating Nerja's culture, traditions and hospitality, with an evening of live music in the heart of town.
