July in Nerja: Hot Summer Vibes
After the incredible atmosphere of San Juan and the colourful celebrations of Nerja Pride, the party spirit may have settled, but summer in Nerja is only just getting started. July is all about long, sun-drenched days, warm evenings and making the most of everything our beautiful Nerja has to offer.
We start the month with stepping back in time during the Macharaviaya 4th of July Celebrations, beginning with a spectacular historical parade through Nerja on 3rd of July before continuing in Macharaviaya the following evening. Commemorating the legacy of Bernardo de Gálvez and the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, this unique festival brings history to life with reenactments, music, culture and tradition.
Whether your perfect holiday means lazy days on the beach or filling every day with new adventures, Nerja has something for everyone.
Discover the town's many beautiful Beaches, from lively family favourites to peaceful hidden coves, visit the spectacular Nerja Caves, admire the breathtaking views from the Balcón de Europa or simply wander the charming whitewashed streets filled with cafés, restaurants, bars and independent boutiques.
As evening falls, Nerja comes alive in a different way. Chiringuitos serve fresh seafood, terraces fill with locals and visitors enjoying long summer dinners, and you'll often come across live music, artisan markets and cultural events.
Fancy dancing? Salsa Evenings continue throughout the summer at Hotel Puerta del Mar, while football fans can catch many of the big matches at El Limonero.
If you're ready to explore beyond Nerja, our Local Escapes section is full of inspiration. Every village in the Axarquía has its own unique character, and July is great month to discover them.
