For Pizza & Asian Food Lovers

For Pizza & Asian Food Lovers - when that urge comes and only pizza or Asian Flavours will do…

Each month we love to share some of the places that have made us smile, those evenings filled with good food, friendly faces, and stories shared around the table. These are spots we return to time and again, and that many of our friends love too. All of them bring something special to Nerja’s dining scene.

We like these places because they work for everyone, whether we go out as a small family, a big group of friends, or with teenagers, kids, and even our four-legged companions. The majority have lovely terraces that are dog-friendly, making them perfect for Nerja’s sunny lifestyle. They’re reliable choices when you need to think of vegetarians, vegans, and special food requirements, and still want great flavours, friendly service, and that unmistakable Nerja warmth.

Whether you’re a local foodie, a returning visitor, or discovering Nerja for the first time  - these are perfect for pizza fans, curry lovers, and South-East Asian food enthusiasts alike.

🍕 For Pizza Lovers – Pinocchio, Il Covo & Nonna Mia

When the craving for pizza hits, Nerja never disappoints.

Pinocchio has become one of our long-standing favourites, a cheerful spot where friends meet, families gather, and everyone leaves happy. It’s lively, familiar, and always good fun, the kind of place where conversations stretch long after dessert. The pizzas are fresh, the pasta generous, and the atmosphere easy. The traditional pepperoni or quattro formaggi never fails, with some of us pouring that tasty chilli oil over the top — a ritual that somehow makes it even better. It’s also great fun for kids, with all those cute little Pinocchios hanging about adding a playful touch to the meal.

At Il Covo you don’t just get great food, but often a bit of a show too. Run by a warm family team who bring personality and heart to everything they do, it’s always a night full of laughter, energy, and excellent Italian comfort food that feels like home. We love starting with their provolone starter, rich and bubbling, followed by one of their signature pinsas, made from a light blend of soy, rice, and wheat flours. They also offer gluten-free pizzas, so everyone can join in. Among our favourites are the Diavola and the Tuna pizza, both full of flavour and perfectly crisp.

And when we fancy stepping just a little outside the town centre, Nonna Mia in Torrecilla never disappoints. The warm smiles, generous portions, and starters that are honestly to die for make it one of those places that stays on your favourites list. Many of our friends love to choose from their selection of fresh pastas, while we can never resist checking the special dish of the week, always a lovely surprise, seasonal, creative, and cooked with love. Dining here feels like having a long, relaxed meal somewhere in the midst of Italy, only this time with the Mediterranean seaside right beside you. You are, quite literally, sitting in Italy.

🌶️ For Curry Lovers – Namaste Restaurant & Goa Town

When the craving for curry strikes, we usually find ourselves choosing between Namaste Nepali and Indian Resturant and Goa Town Indian and Nepali Restaurant, both absolute gems in the heart of Nerja.

As the evenings turn slightly cooler, these two are our favourites to warm us up in the autumn air. Namaste brings its Nepalese touch to traditional Indian cooking, gentler, aromatic, and full of warmth. The atmosphere here feels almost like sitting at a friend’s table: “Caring, sharing, loving,” as owner Sangita says, and that’s exactly what this place is about. It’s where food, friendship, and laughter meet. The spicy lamb masala and the sweeter butter chicken are our go-tos - mix those two and you’re in pure Nepalese-and-Indian heaven, best enjoyed with an ice-cold Nepalese Lukla beer or Indian Cobra beer, and maybe a glass of red for good measure.

Just a short stroll away, Goa Town never fails to deliver those bold, rich flavours we all love. Authentic dishes cooked with care, perfectly balanced spices, and a genuinely friendly team that always makes you feel at home. On sunny days, we love sitting out on the terrace for their menu del día, a great-value lunch with the warmth of the Spanish sun and the flavours of India on one plate.

🥢 For South-East Asian Flavours – LanSang & Kha Hom Thai–Lao

Oh, how many evenings we’ve sat at LanSang until late, sharing those BBQ spare ribs, green mango salads, the must-have Pad Thai, and those Thai–Laos curries that dance between sweet and hot. This restaurant blends both cultures beautifully, serving dishes full of colour, spice, and soul. It’s perfect for long, easy evenings when the conversation flows and no one’s watching the clock.

In town, Kha Hom Thai–Lao Restaurant is a fairly new addition, run by the same team and already a firm favourite. The menu is slightly different, but you’ll still find all your Thai and Lao classics, plus a few delicious surprises. There’s almost too much to choose from, which is exactly why it’s great to go with a big group. We usually end up sharing lots of plates, a true feast of flavours! Located right in the town centre, it’s ideal for dinner before or after any fiestas or performances in town.

❤️ Nerja Amigos Approved

Each of these restaurants has one thing in common: they make you feel welcome, feed you well, and remind you why eating out in Nerja is one of life’s great pleasures.

So this month, whether it’s a pizza night with friends, a comforting curry, or a South-East Asian feast, treat yourself to something delicious and support local.

Tips: Check opning hours during winter as some close for holidays.
